Camp Cope-a-Lot (ages 11-13)
February 22 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
12-week group for children ages 11-13 living in Peel Region. This weekly group will be offered on Mondays beginning February 22nd (runs February 22nd – May 17th, 2021).
Camp Cope-A-Lot is a 12-module online program for use with children suffering from anxiety. The computer based program provides cognitive behavioural therapy techniques (based on the Coping Cat treatment) for children struggling with anxiety and stress.
Sessions 1-6 are skill building and children will learn about somatic responses associated with anxiety; relaxation skills; self-talk and emotions; self-evaluation and self-reward as well as the construction of the FEAR plan. Sessions 7-12 are practice opportunities in which children plan to use the FEAR plan in new and increasingly challenges situations.
The goal is to teach children to recognize signs of unwanted anxious arousal and to let these signs serve as cues for the use of anxiety management strategies.
After you register, an Access and Intake Specialist from WhereToStart.ca will contact you to complete an assessment, which is required to participate in this group. If you do not hear from anyone within 48 hours, please call 905-451-4655 or email .
