Groups for Caregivers

Connect with other caregivers and learn from child and youth mental health experts by participating in one of EveryMind’s online and in-person groups for caregivers. Registration is required for all groups.

Mom’s Group – Feeling Good About Being You

Feeling overwhelmed or alone in the chaos of motherhood? This group is for you.

Connect with other moms, take a breath, and focus on you. Together, you’ll explore ways to manage stress, practice self-care, recognize your strengths, and discover community resources to support you. You deserve this time to recharge and feel supported. This group has 8 sessions.

Learning About ADHD

Raising a child with ADHD? You’re not alone.

Learn practical parenting strategies, understand how medication fits in, explore available resources, and get tips on working with your child’s school. Designed for parents of kids aged 6–12 with an ADHD diagnosis, this group offers support, knowledge, and real-life tools. This group has 6 sessions.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

This is a support group for grandparents who are parenting/caregiving a second time, raising their grandchildren.  Meeting with other grandparents, they will have the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns about caregiving in today’s society, understanding and supporting their grandchildren and their unique needs.  They will also explore their stressors and learn self-care and stress management strategies to help them cope with the many demands in their lives. This group has 6 sessions.

Circle of Security

Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you! The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

This training will help you:

  • Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional cues
  • Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of your child’s self-esteem
  • Honour your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

Each cycle of this group has 8 sessions.

Emotion-Focused Family Therapy Group

Parenting a child or teen with big emotions? You’re not alone.

Designed for caregivers of kids ages 8–18, this group focuses on Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), a proven approach to help you support your child through tough feelings. You’ll learn practical, effective strategies, build confidence in your role, and have the chance to ask questions and get support from expert clinicians and fellow parents.

Let us help you feel more equipped, connected, and supported on your parenting journey.

This workshop is for caregivers residing in Peel only. This group has six 2-hour sessions or four 3-hour sessions.

Parenting Your Anxious Child

This two-part workshop helps parents understand anxiety in children and how to support them effectively. Learn about signs of anxiety, avoidance, CBT tools, communication tips, and strategies for relaxation and exposure. Connect with other parents and leave with practical tools to support your child’s emotional well-being.
