Workshops for Children and Youth

EveryMind offers free, in-person workshops for youth at our main office at 85A Aventura Court, Mississauga, ON L5T 2Y6 or virtually via Zoom throughout the year. Each workshop is a one-time, 1.5-hour session designed to:

  • Give youth a space to discussion topics that are relevant to them, and
  • Foster opportunities for youth to share their opinions and build connections with other youth.

Being In the Here and Now: Mindfulness

  • Do you find yourself often on autopilot, constantly doing multiple things at the same time and feeling disconnected?
  • Do you find yourself focused on the past or the future instead of being in the present moment?

Learn skills to help you be more present and reduce self criticism. Learn and practice “being mode” instead of “doing mode”.

Sitting in the “ugh”: Crisis Survival Skills

  • Do you ever find yourself struggling with stress, emotions and urges, or have difficulty managing these emotions?
  • Do you feel emotions more intensely or easily than most people?

Learn helpful strategies to calm yourself down from hard emotions such as anger, sadness, and /or anxiety.

  • Do you find yourself often in conflict with family and friends?
  • Want to learn how to navigate difficult conversations?

Learn to navigate conflict. Find ways to balance acceptance and change.

Feelings First Aid: Navigating Emotions

  • Do your emotions often get the best of you?
  • Want to learn about how to respond instead of react to them?

Learn to sit with and cope with difficult emotions and reduce the negative impacts of these emotions. Learn about the purpose of emotions, how to respond instead of reacting, and how to move from dysregulation to regulation.

  • Do you have difficulty with communicating with others?
  • Are you struggling to maintain self-respect and assertiveness in relationships?

Learn how to ask for what you want and say no. Learn to manage conflict and repair relationships.
